The Arbor Clovis Snowboard is Mark Carter's beast of a freeride board! A fitting ride for someone who spends his summers working a cattle ranch and his winters riding some of the gnarliest terrain around Wyoming. One of the most powerful, yet fun, boards out there. Super quick edge-to-edge for riding tight trees. Some updates in shaping the past few years, more volume in the nose, with increased width overall and a shorter tail equal extra float when the snow gets good. Rips on the hardpack and "packed powder." The extra width allows you to get low on the carves. Carbon A-Frames have been added from binding zone to contacts to increase edge hold and snap. New environmental construction methods including recycled steel edges, zero waste base tech, FSC-certified sustainable core and recycled sidewalls, Entropy Bio-resins, and bio-bean-based plastic topsheet. Just don't call Carter a hippy. Flex Rating (1 = soft, 10 = most responsive) 6 Suggested Use Freeride, All-Mountain, Big-Mountain, Powder Camber / Rocker Style Arbor Camber System The Camber System design offers a poppy ride with crisp, fully engaged performance. The System is Arbor's principal design platform. Arbor developed The System to improve true rocker and camber designs by maintaining the integrity of both platforms without fusing either into a hybrid design. Their belief is that hybridization sacrifices some of the inherent benefits of each design philosophy. The System is an advanced rocker and camber design that improves upon the benefits of each platform depending on the needs of each rider. Whether you prefer the crisp, fully engaged performance of camber or the surfy, butter feel of rocker, The System creates a clean, effective connection to the snow, delivering a smooth ride with enhanced control. The System is a blending of two technologies: Grip Tech and Parabolic Profiling. Grip Tech Grip Tech is a tri-radial sidecut design that is not "blended." Natural shaping intersections, that in the past were eliminated, have been transformed into heel and toe contact points that provide a direct, more ergonomic way to grip the snow when additional control is needed. The extra contacts also form pivot zones that make turning easier and more natural. Grip Tech effectively moves a board's primary interface with the snow underfoot, allowing for designs that don't lose performance as they lift leading sections of the effective edge from the snow for a less grabby ride. Those designs include rocker, or camber with the new Uprise Fenders. Uprise Fenders pull the outside contact zones off the snow with angled 3º risers on all Camber System designs. Parabolic Profiling The System utilizes rocker or camber profiles created using the parabolic arc, which progressively reduces the amount of rocker or camber toward the tip and tail of a snowboard. This creates low, more effective profiles. On Arbor Rocker System designs, parabolic profiling ensures the outside contact points are close enough to the snow to engage when maximum performance is required- higher speeds, fully loaded turns, and bigger landings. On Camber System designs, this guarantees the outside contact points do not dig too far into the snow, creating a cleaner, less catchy performance that makes it easier to turn, spin, and ride fast. Shape Directional 1 cm Tapered Tail A shaping technique that narrows the profile of the snowboard towards the rear contact points. Tapered snowboards will have a wider nose and narrower tail, allowing the tail of the board to sink in deeper snow creating natural float and cleaner tracking. Core Material FSC Certified Double Barrel Core Poplar to Paulownia blend with bamboo stringers running down the center of the board for added longitudinal pop and unmatched board control. Construction American Black Walnut Powerply Arbor signature Powerply topsheets are made with a sustainably sourced wood or bamboo topsheet. The natural grain creates the style Arbor has been known for since they launched in 1995. Less recognized is how the technology improves the strength, durability, and return of these snowboards. The Power Ply works like an added layer of fiberglass. During construction, the natural wood or bamboo fibers are turned into a composite layer inside the board, but the process takes time. They start with a log that must be soaked so that it can be sliced or "veneered" into sheets, which are then assembled into "faces". The "faces" are then backed with a special fleece material, precision sanded, and pre-laminated to a protective foil made in part from natural castor bean oil. The finished topsheet is at last ready to be built into a snowboard. In the end, the process makes Arbor Power Ply designs the most labor-intensive snowboards on the market. The resulting performance, board life, finish quality, reduced reliance on man-made glues, coatings, and composites are worth the extra effort. Bio-Plastic Topsheet One of the materials used in Arbor's quest to eliminate harmful petroleum based plastics from the production cycle. Made from Castor Bean Oil, this eco-topsheet is extremely durable and water repellent. Mixed Glassing A triax over biax lay-up that's best for versatility: pow, backcountry, groomers, jumps, and more. AWD Carbon A-Frame A carbon fiber lay-up insert running from the contact points to the inserts creates structural a-frames for improved torsional performance in the steeps and at speed. Entropy Bio Resin Starting with the 2020 line Arbor is proud to announce that all Powerplys and R.A.P. Topless Tech veneers will be made with Entropy Bio-Resin, a replacement for traditional petroleum based resin that doesn't affect performance or usability. The ingredients that go into Entropy Bio-Resin are sourced as co-products or waste products of other industrial processes and are manufactured employing green chemistry techniques that reduce the carbon footprint of the material by up to 40% (when compared to its petroleum based equivalent). Three Year Warranty Edges 360 Degree Fully Wrapped Sidewalls A 360-degree, fully wrapped sidewall that eliminates the need for tip fill, while effectively tying the whole snowboard together. A technology that delivers incredibly tight tolerances for improved board life and durability. Recycled ABS When a plastic alternative is unavailable, as in the case of ABS sidewalls, Arbor opts for a recycled material to improve the sustainability of their products. Recycled Steel Edges Arbor's highly durable, recycled steed edges embody two of Arbor's key values: quality and sustainability. Base Sintered Base A higher molecular weight, sintered base that provides added durability and speed. Wend Natural Wax All Arbor snowboards hit the shop floor ready to ride with Wend Natural Wax. Factory Tuned Arbor detunes the tip and tail contact points on all of their snowboards for a catch-free ride before they leave the factory. Binding Mounting System 2x4 14-Pack Inserts
